Posted 23 April 2010: NED 1" and NED 1/3" Pre-packaged Tiles
Use this new interface to select your state or county from a pulldown list or define a geographic area of interest to retrieve the pre-packaged tiles. Please note that the pre-packaged tiles are each slightly larger than 1 x 1 degree due to 6 pixel overlap between neighboring tiles.    New Interface

Posted 15 January 2010: Reminder: National Elevation Dataset (NED) 1, 1/3, and 1/9 Arc Second data are available through The National Map Seamless Server and The National Map viewer. Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) 3 and 1 Arc Second data are available from Earth Explorer http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov

Posted 15 January 2010: The National Elevation Dataset (NED) 1 and 1/3 Arc Second data are available as a pre-packaged product utilizing the Tiled Data Distribution System. The data is available in a zip file as 1 x 1 degree blocks. (Filename is the upper left corner of the block).
